EUCHARIST
"The Eucharist literally eternalizes us. As we take into our bodies the body and blood of Jesus, we become conformed to him; we become thereby, equipped for eternal life. We're Christified by eating His body and drinking His blood, and thereby we become prepared for eternal life. As St. Paul says, 'Is not the bread we eat a communion with the Body of Christ and is the cup that we drink not a communion in the Blood of Christ ?' This is why St.John Paul II wrote,"the church comes from the Eucharist.' We are not members of an organization, we are cells, molecules and organs in a living organism. This is why Paul speaks of the "Body" which we are members of. So by this Real Presence of Jesus in the Eucharist, by which we commune, becoming members of His Body, we are connected to each other by the deepest bond. This is why we serve each other, because the suffering of any one of us is the suffering of all of us. If we're cells in a body, than your suffering is my suffering; your need is my need. So Christ is among us really, truly and substantially present before us in the Blessed Sacrament. In the holy Eucharist we eat His Body and drink His Blood and become conformed to Him. "

1 Cor. 10:16-17
16The cup of blessing that we bless, is it not a participation in the blood of Christ? The bread that we break, is it not a participation in the body of Christ? 17Because the loaf of bread is one, we, though many, are one body, for we all partake of the one loaf.
participation = communion, bonding - "koinonia"
